McDougall Energy Expands in Owen Sound with Acquisition of MacDonnell Fuels

Sault Ste. Marie, ON (November 2, 2026) – McDougall Energy Inc. (“McDougall Energy”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of MacDonnell Fuels, a long-established fuel and propane distributor based in Owen Sound, Ontario, effective November 2, 2026.

For over 60 years, MacDonnell Fuels has delivered reliable fuel and propane services to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers in Bruce and Grey counties. The acquisition is a natural fit between two family-owned businesses that share similar values, customer-mindedness, and deep roots in the communities they serve.

Customers of MacDonnell Fuels will transition to McDougall Energy, with dedicated teams working closely with customers to ensure continuity of service. Operations will continue from the existing Owen Sound location, now under the McDougall Energy brand. The dedicated local team will continue to support customers throughout the transition and beyond.
