McDougall Energy and the Esso Community Program Support NSHN Auxiliary Richards Landing – Matthews with $2500 Towards New Defibrillator
SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario – McDougall Energy, in partnership with Imperial’s Esso Community Program, is pleased to announce a $2500 donation to the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) Auxiliary, Richards Landing – Matthews site. The sponsorship will go towards the purchase of a new defibrillator to serve Richards Landing and the surrounding communities.
The NSHN consists of three sites across the North Shore including Richards Landing – Matthews, Thessalon and Blind River. The Auxiliary is a registered charity with the sole purpose of raising funds for the NSHN. The Richards Landing – Matthews site includes the areas of Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional, Johnson, Plummer Additional, St. Joseph, Hilton, and Jocelyn, with a combined population of over 4,500. This number swells during the summer months with the many tourists and visitors that frequent this scenic area.
With the next closest health centre nearly an hour away in Sault Ste. Marie, it is important for the site to have access to quality equipment to support the community. The government does not provide funding for hospital equipment and the cost of the new defibrillator is estimated at $30,000.
