McDougall Energy enhances propane supply for Manitoulin Island

February 2, 2021 – McDougall Energy recently increased its propane storage capacity on Manitoulin Island, Ontario with the installation of a larger propane bulk plant. This new bulk plant is a substantial investment to the region that improves the reliability of supply.  With 70% more capacity, it provides McDougall Energy customers peace of mind that we have ample product available when they need it most.  The tank improves operational efficiency and enables future growth and continued service to our home and business customers in the region. As well, with Northern Ontario winters and the potential for road closures, the increased capacity reduces the risk of supply shortages from adverse weather.

“This was a well-run project led by project manager Joe Iturregui. From site development, transporting and installing the new equipment on the Island, and decommissioning of the old plant, this project required extensive planning and execution.  We were able to complete the install in a very tight timeline with the exceptional support from our equipment suppliers, local contractors, regulatory agencies and site personnel,” said Mike Rosso, Vice President – Operations, McDougall Energy.

McDougall Energy has proudly served households, businesses, motorists and wholesale energy customers since 1949, and customers in the Manitoulin Island area since 2007. Propane is a natural choice for customers when it comes to versatility in providing cost-efficient, safe, and reliable home and business heating solutions. With our No Run Out Program, customers have the added comfort knowing they can rely on us to provide propane to their home, camp or cottage.
